Leicestershire Police is investigating an accident on A1 between Stamford and Great Casterton on Friday.

According to investigators, officials including emergency services, air ambulance, and investigators were dispatched to a scene where a vehicle collision occurred. Officials say there are delays of 30 minutes and 3 miles of congestion on the approach in both directions.

One person was transported to an area hopsital where they were confirmed dead. The number of other injuries is not confirmed at this time. Motorists have been urged to use an alternative route as officials continue to investigate the incident.
